Angry Birds

Rovio, the makers of the hit iPhone game Angry Birds was interviewed recently by CNET on the success of their record selling game. It has already sold more than 5 million copies of the 0.99 cents game with around 60,000 downloads daily. According to them, it was no overnight success. After developing what they call “the perfect iPhone game”, they engaged highly rated game publisher Chillingo to help market and gain exposure for the game. The viral effect after that pretty much single-handedly led to the success that it has now.

Having already conquered the App Store, it’s planning to release for the Palm and Android platform very soon. Pretty much at the early stages of their success, they do plan to port it to multiple platforms. A lite version is also available for free, so go check it out!
