Adobe has announced that Flash Player 10.2 is now available for download on the Android Market. Flash 10.2 is available for versions 2.2 and above namely Android 2.2 (Froyo), 2.3 (Gingerbread) and Android 3.0.1+ (Honeycomb).

This is great news where Android devices can now experience the full web experience where Apple iOS devices currently lack. Here are some of the new improvements:-

  • Performance enhancements on Android 3.0.1+ tablets, Android 2.2 and 2.3 devices
  • Improved scrolling of web pages. Uncompromised viewing of rich, immersive content in the way intended by the page designer, including support for instances where HTML and other web content is composited over Flash Player rendered content.
  • Automatic soft keyboard support. This feature simplifies the development of multiscreen applications that require keyboard input, making it easier for developers to optimize desktop applications for mobile devices.
