Facebook-Camera-App-BadgeA lot of people are wondering why would Facebook release their own camera app for the iOS when they have just acquired Instagram. One of the speculation is that this app was in the works long before the buyout and they decided to release the app anyway since the process of acquiring Instagram could take some time.

Called the Facebook Camera and currently only available for the iOS, it lets users post up multiple photos on your Facebook and lets you tag friends and add captions. It also has some crops and filters but nowhere near what is offered by Instagram. One cool thing about the app though is that it not only lets you view Facebook photos but also photos uploaded with other apps like Camera+ and Instagram.

Facebook Camera is a basic app that does what it’s meant to do which is sharing photos to your Facebook but it’s nowhere near what Instagram is and that further proves why Facebook is paying $1 billion for it.
