Ham on the Run! is an endless runner game for the iOS that lets you play Ham, an energetic pig that loves to run, eat plenty of vegetables and terrorizing chickens. This fast pace game starts immediately with Ham running around in some carnival. Just tap to screen to make the pig jump as he runs. Jump on four chickens in a row and you enter a bonus stage to collect more veggies. The veggies can be used to buy spins on a prize wheel that lets you win prizes and bonuses. Your journey won’t be easy as there’s bear traps, rockets, flying cars and others to avoid. This cute looking game is repetitive but addictive and should appeal to casual gamers.

Here’s a unique release for the iOS called Bad Hotel where you play as a budding entrepreneur who needs to build a hotel as quickly as you can. The reason being it’s unfortunately located at the vicinity of bad guy Tarnation Tadstock who will be sending birds, yetis, rats and others to bring down your hotel. It’s essentially a castle defense type game where you build rooms that bring income or rooms with weapons to defend your hotel. The game is pretty musical as each room brings in a different tone that creates a unique music for your hotel.

Organ Trail: Director’s Cut is a parody remake of the original classic game The Oregon Trail. Funded by a successful Kickstarter campaign, it’s currently available on both iOS and Android. The idea of the game is pretty much the same except you’re in a zombie infested world. The same retro pixel art is seen throughout the app which makes it even more hilarious. You set out on a journey with 4 of your friends looking for supplies and fending off the undead. Each town stop will let you rest, buy and sell stuff, or fix your car. As you travel around the nation with plenty of action and story, you also get to watch your party members die a slow death. Being a zombie ain’t easy. They have to look for brains to eat when they are hungry and run away from the many dangerous humans that are after them. Plight of the Zombie is what that’s all about which is different from the rest of the zombie games out there. There’s 30 levels of puzzles where you need to move the adorable corpses by drawing a path for them to follow. Tapping on them will stop them for a couple of seconds. You need to plan your strategy to avoid the bad humans and snag as many brains as you can. It can be quite a challenge when you have to delegate a couple of zombies. Must say it’s pretty unique and a great looking path-drawing puzzle game.

There’s many photo apps that offer filters that add painting effects to your photos but the latest app called Glaze for the iOS is worth a look. It turns your ordinary photos to Da Vinci work of art. The interface is simple and gets straight to the point where you just tap the different filters available and wait a few seconds for it to generate the effect. The filters come with some visual suggestion that best fits your photo like a portrait, colourful scenery, sunsets, etc. You can add multiple effects to the same photo where you can save your own custom styles and share it on Twitter, Facebook or through email. One drawback though is the image saved is a 2048 x 1536(3 Megapixels) resolution which is probably not enough for big prints. The developers have assured that they are working on supporting higher resolutions in future updates. This is a universal app that supports both iPhone and iPad. Check out how the app works below:-
Gameloft has released Monster Life, a cute game for the iOS and Android where you’re a monster keeper of adorable paper doll creatures. You need to raise and train up to 20 monsters and build your own custom kingdom to fend off an ancient Chaos. Battles are pretty much turn-based with a timer for each monster and once time’s up, you can attack the enemy from one-on-one to three-on-three. From time to time, your monsters will get to unleash special attacks. You’ll find that the more you play this game, the cuter it gets.
